Hemorrhoids is a disorder characterized by inflammation or enlargement of veins in and outside rectum or around anus. The veins or blood vessels get inflamed in reaction to excessive pressure. Hemorrhoids can happen to people of all ages and to both men and women. But women are more plagued by the problem. Hemorrhoids is also known as piles. Hemorrhoids is of the following 2 types:
1. Internal hemorrhoids occur in the inner lining of rectum. It cannot be seen. However in some cases, the vein may swell too much and extend across the rectal boundary. Such prolapsed internal hemorrhoids may be visualized at the anal opening as a protruding lump. The lump can be pushed back temporarily but cannot be fixed.
2. External hemorrhoids occur below the skin around anus. When it swells, it can be felt. When blood clots within an external hemorrhoids, it swells all the more and is termed as thrombosed external hemorrhoids. It pains a lot while passing motion or sitting.
The symptoms of hemorrhoids include throbbing pain, itching, burning sensation and rectal bleeding. The causes of hemorrhoids may be listed as follows:

3. Obesity

5. Stress
6. Low fiber diet
7. Chronic diarrhea
8. Heavy lifting jobs

Home Remedies for Hemorrhoids
1. Fill bathtub up to 4 inches with warm water and mix any anti-septic liquid with the water. Sit on the tub for 15-20 minutes. The warm water soothes and relaxes sphincter muscles and lessens pain of protruding hemorrhoids.
2. Boil 20 grams sesame seed in 500 ml water. Strain and drink the water. This treats hemorrhoids effectively.
3. Mix grated white radish with 1 tablespoon honey and consume. This reduces hemorrhoids.
4. Add a pinch of salt to 90 ml of radish juice and take twice a day to prevent hemorrhoids.
5. Dry and grind mango seeds to a fine powder and take 2 grams of the powder daily. This cures bleeding piles.
6. Dab visible hemorrhoids with a cotton containing petroleum jelly or zinc oxide paste. This facilitates fast healing.
7. Boil ripe banana and then add the pulp to a cup of milk and consume. This is an effective home remedy for hemorrhoids.
8. Soak 3-4 dry figs in water overnight. In the morning consume the figs and drink the water in empty stomach. This is a great solution to hemorrhoids problem.
9. Mix well grounded radish with milk to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on inflamed hemorrhoids to cure them.
10. Application of cold compress on the rectal area for an hour is beneficial in treating hemorrhoids.
11. A paste made out of crushed cumin seeds and water should be applied on hemorrhoids as a pain relief remedy.
12. Mix half teaspoon ginger juice, half teaspoon lime juice, half teaspoon fresh mint leaf juice and 1 tablespoon honey. Consume the mixture once daily to get rid of hemorrhoids.

Simple and Best Home Remedies for Hemorrhoids
When the veins in the anal canal get swollen of inflamed, it is the condition of hemorrhoids. Excess pressure on the veins causes it to swell up.
There are two kinds of hemorrhoids, namely internal and external. They are categorized so due to their position. Internal hemorrhoids are swelling of the veins inside the rectum. But when they get severe, they may start protruding out too. External hemorrhoids are the inflammation of the veins near the anal opening.
The vascular structure in the anal canal controls the stools. So, when too much strain is put on this area, it results in the above condition. Cases of diarrhea or cases of constipation can create strain on the veins. Pregnant women are usually faced by this condition during the period of pregnancy due to the pressure put by the fetus on the blood vessels in this area. Labor and delivery may further cause hemorrhoids. During childbirth, too much force is put to push the child out, resulting in swelling. Obese and overweight people are more prone to having hemorrhoids. Irregular bowel movements, sitting for prolonged period of time, low fiber diet and age are the other factors. In some cases, this may be a genetic issue.

4. Sitz Bath: Take a wide tub and fill with warm water. Sit and soak your swollen area in this for 10-15 minutes. This gives a lot of relief from hemorrhoids.
5. Papaya: Regular intake of papaya aids in digestion thereby helping cleaning of bowels.
6. Prune Juice: Prune juice is also beneficial.

Avoid intake of oily and spicy food, this create burning sensation. Do not sit in one place for long time. Exercise without putting strain on the rectum area. Do not do heavy weight lifting. Clean gently after bowel movement, without rubbing or scratching. Keep your weight in control by doing some regular exercise. Consume lots of water and other fluids for ease of passing of stools.
