Diet for Healthy Skin - Prevent Skin Problems

It is very important to eat right it get growing skin. Even if you are applying herbs or medicines to get a glowing skin from outside, you require a good diet to maintain the suppleness of skin. To get a glowing skin and to maintain the look one need to follow the basic guidelines.

1. A low fat meal may result in wrinkled skin because fat forms a protective layer below the skin layer and provides the glow to the skin.

2. A balanced diet containing fat, carbohydrate, minerals and vitamins helps in proper functioning of the brain and the body and it is needed for good skin.

3. Anti inflammatory diet should be taken to prevent occurrence of eczema and acne on skin.

4. Proteins are needed to repair skin damages. The diet should have adequate amount of proteins. Food products containing proteins are egg white, turkey breast and chicken.

5. Certain healthy fats and oils are required for keeping the skin glowing.

6. Sugar which induces inflammation should not be included in the diet. Diet which contains a good amount of glycemic index should be avoided. It includes potatoes and rice.

Following can be included in the diet

1. Fish contains a good amount of omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants, and it is good for healthy skin.

2. Extra virgin olive oil also contains anti inflammatory properties and it can be taken for a good look.

3. A good amount of water should be taken each day.

4. Skin requires good amount of certain vitamins and minerals which is found in steamed organic vegetables, fruits, nuts, olive oil, sunflower seeds and whole grain food.

5. One should include flaxseeds in diet in lunch or dinner as it brings softness to the skin and brings luster.

6. Vitamin A is effective in improving the look. The fruits and vegetables such as carrots, winter squash and sweet potatoes, broccoli, kale and spinach are rich in vitamin A, and it can be taken to improve the skin texture.

7. Vitamin E is also required for a good and healthy skin, and vitamin E is found in almonds and hazelnuts.

8. Herbs such as alfalfa, parsley and kelp helps in improving he skin texture. Alfalfa is rich in vitamin A, B and C.

9. Ginger helps in improving the immunity of the body and prevents infections to skin.

10. Raspberry can be taken to cure skin problems caused by hormonal imbalance.

11. Lobelia is effective in improving blood circulation in the body and it also helps in bringing back the glow.

12. Pumpkin is also effective in improving the health of the skin and peanuts can be taken to get a good amount of zinc.

There are many food items which should be avoided and it includes

1. Spicy and excessively oily food.

2. Processed food or food products not preserved properly.

3. High sodium diet should be avoided.

4. Refined flours such as pasta breads and cakes are not considered good for skin health.

5. Avoid junk food and reduce intake of alcohol.

6. Avoid getting in direct contact with hot sun rays for long.
